The gto is what many will say started the muscle car craze in 1964. There had been other cars long before the gto that offered hopped up engines but were only available in the full-size cars and very limited in production. The gto would be the first intermediate sized car that would be available to the masses and not to mention affordable. This 66 must be one of the best examples i have seen. With it being a 2-owner car with the current owner having taken possession in the late 60's it easy to understand why the restoration had to be done and done right. With a full book of photos that show the car being stripped down to bare metal and taken completely off the frame. With a set of nos fenders placed on the front and the rest of the metal prepped for paint this was job done right. Back to its original color of blue charcoal the finishing job speaks for itself. The chrome and bright work are in excellent shape and were replaced when the restoration was done. This gem has the original 389 tri power that looks as good as the day it left the lot. Freshly built with only 250 miles on it she is ready to have some miles put on her. Matched up to the original muncie 4 speed transmission going through the gears is one of the best feelings any car nut could have. The new interior looks like it's never even been sit in. Although phs documentation is not available we have something even better, the original sales paperwork including the window sticker is included in the sale.
