Gateway classic cars of st. Louis is proud to offer a super clean 2000 plymouth prowler. Chrysler designers were given free rein to design a 30s style hot rod roadster to follow up the show stopping dodge viper. Chip foose helped with the design by drawing up a coupe with similar proportions. Chysler's guys preferred a roadster so they chopped the top off that design and ended up with an open wheel, open top design that has since become immediately recognizable. Chrysler took this all new body design and stuffed in a 3. 5 liter v6 which made comparable power and torque figures to their v8 engines of the time. Power was transferred via a "torque tube" to a rear mounted transmission which helped with weight distribution. The later cars used an aluminum version of the 3. 5l which also helped with weight. The majority of the chassis was aluminum as well to keep the weight down to improve performance both in a straight line and in the twistys. 0-60 mph in less than 6 seconds was no problem as well as a 125+ mph top speed. This particular example has been well maintained and kept unmodified. The car has only 22,667 original miles, and is up to date on maintenance including having brand new tires.
