The atlanta showroom is offering this 1957 ford thunderbird for sale. Thanks to franklin q. Hershey & william p. Boyer, ford had a car that combined the flair of a sports car and the comfort of a boulevard cruiser, the thunderbird. However, a slight sales decline in 1956 sent ford designers back to their drawing boards. The labor resulted in the consummate two-seat thunderbird. Other less visible improvements included larger openings for improved cooling, revised spring rates, larger brakes, stiffer chassis crossmembers, a 12-volt electrical system and new 14-inch wheels. These evolutionary steps enabled a more stable and capable handling thunderbird and its spare tire back in the trunk. Marketed as a spacious, luxurious boulevardier, the thunderbird was introduced in 1955 in response to the chevrolet corvette, which had been launched two years earlier. With that said the transmission was pulled and completely rebuilt as well making this a better than new drivetrain. With virtually everything power assisted those motors add up quick. Everything from the windows to the seat are all controlled by the touch of a button.
